Why does my 97 Subaru overheat but when you accelerate it cools off I already changed the thermostat 3 times and It has a brand new cooling system.?

has the water pump been changed. is the fan working correctly. sounds to me you are not getting enough cooler air through radiator. check the operation of the fan and that the radiator fins are not full of dirt and leaves

I am not familiar with the Audi, but on most cars, the thermostat is at the point where the top hose leaves the engine to go to the radiator. A bad thermostat can make your car overheat. If it has not been changed since 1992 it should have been changed long ago.
