Bad coil Bad points Bad condensor Bad rotor Bad cap Bad distributor
The same way you gap spark plugs for any car that uses spark plugs.
No, it doesnt.
You may not have any spark, you need to check for spark with a spark tester..If you do not have spark it could be caused by your spark control modulel, bad coil ect.find out why you have no spark...Have you been having problems before with the truck turning off or stalling, prior to this? If so then i would suspect the spark control module.
no he doesnt. But he did want one for this 40th birthday but he chickened out :)
check for spark
The answewr is NO. Up to and including 1975 they were considered short nose frames and from 1976 thru 1980 they were long nose frames. hope this Intel is of any use. if i can share any more info contact me at: rokcrawlcj@hotmail.com
my tracer has done this, in some cases if u are at an angle, the fuel line doesnt allow the fuel to get into the engine causing no spark it for the car to start...
Just about any Jeep CJ5 in almost any running condition will bring $1,000. What yours is worth depends on it's where you live, condition of the vehicle,, mileage, engine, and transmission type. you can try an extendable magnet (found at almost any parts store right next to the cashier) or if that doesnt work, try a long pair of needle nose pliers
it could be a number of things...im no diesel mechanic but check your spark plugs and spark plugs wires, it seems your battery is ok if the car turns over...it may not be firing if the car doesnt start...so my 1st guess would be to check if ur getting any spark at the spark plugs there is only glow plugs not spark plugs. were talken bout a diesel right?
If there is any residue on the spark plug, it will not produce a sufficient spark for the engine ignition.
Remove a spark plug (any one will do), and lay it somewhere on the engine where you or a buddy can see it (not near that puddle of gasoline, though, thank you very much). Crank the engine. If you see a nice bright spark (believe me, you won't miss it if it's there) then you have a fuel delivery problem. If you see no spark, you have an ignition problem. Be sure to replace the spark plug after this test.
is there any corrosion on the spades of the coil?or on the connectors?you say DIS,i think distributorless ignition system that an 89 doesnt have,is that correct?or are you meaning distributor cap?
