Logic is the ability to think through a problem systematically. Science was born of logic, but cold logic without sympathetic reasoning and moral grounding is dangerous. ∙ 10y agoSometimes I enjoy communicating via "stream of consciousness". Since the topic is art, let me answer the question with that process.
Let me also deal with this question with some background ideas, and be granted a "license" to make arguments that are changeable: logic is a college subject that falls within the sphere of mathematics. From my earliest years, I was taught that math was not a science per se but one of the most abstract areas in the human mind.
Example: What is a negative number? or What is a number? Numbers cannot be seen or touched. They are abstractions.
Artists try to communicate an idea or ideas... what is an idea? Show me one.. but we can see sometimes the result of the idea....
I am a painter.. I have an idea about life.. I want to communicate that idea because I think it will be of value to the viewer of my work. What is the most logical way that I can communicate my idea that one must deal with the reality of life's pain?
Here we see the artist using the most logical way to express himself with his paint, brush & canvas.
