Why is Mick Carter allowed to keep his robertpalmercom website posted when the Palmer family disapproves of it?

The reason is that the site is registered to Mick Carter until 2013, at which point he will no longer be legally allowed to post the site. Unfortunately, in 2000, the Palmer family gave Mick Carter their carte blanche to post information regarding Robert Palmer prior to his death on this website. Anna Palmer stated that she felt that Carter had abused his authority in posting this site without the family's permission after her father's death. The family did not approve of the content or the professionalism of the website. The Palmer family did ask Carter to take down the site, but he refused. The only member of the Palmer family who associates with Mick Carter at this point is Robert Palmer's brother, Mark Palmer, who contributed a comment to this site regarding his late brother. In no way does this mean, however, that this website is sanctioned by Robert Palmer's children or his parents, and definitely not by the late Robert Palmer's close friends. Those that contributed to this website that did know Robert Palmer knew him in a peripheral way and were not really that close to him. Anna Palmer has also stated that the majority of the information contained on this site is suspect and not to be trusted. To wit, she pointed out the "In his own words" sector of the site, posting a questionaire that her father had allegedly filled out for a magazine. She points out the the information provided is not correct, and that the handwriting does not belong to that of her late father. Even the height, haircolor and weight listed are wrong, in addition to which her father would never fill any such thing out. He would simply have given the magazine an interview. Mick Carter has made it clear to the Palmer family that the website will remain posted until 2013, until the day that he is legally compelled to take it down.
