overdrive light blinks when there is a problem in the transmission. take it to a good transmission repairer, as soon as you can to be fixed, or it will leave you broke down on the road somewhere
Simply fastening your seat belt should put the light out. If you have a heavy object sitting on the passenger side seat like a tool box or such that could trick the light to come on. If not you have something disconnected or broken.
Since no one was able to help I got the code on e-bay and paid over ten dollars for the info. I will share that location. The code for the factory door lock key pad for a 2002 Ford F150 is located on the near drivers side kick panel and fire wall. It is on a white plastic box, the numbers will be large and visible
that all depends on what is wrong with it
No spark .no fuel.
Ford F150 trucks came with R-12 until 1994. that is when they changed to R 134-A. Most vehicles that came with R-12 have been converted to R 134-A.
The computer that controls the component cannot do what it wants to do so it signals you to give it attention get it diagnosied by an ASE trained experianced tech
If the check engine light is blinking that indicates an engine cylinder misfire has been detected
When the O/D off light blinks that is indicating that a malfunction has been detected - get it checked out
You're kidding right? The OD is for freeway driving. It lowers your engine RPM and allows for better fuel mileage.
You're screwed
It probably means that one of your head or tail lights is about to go out. I have a Ford Taurus and my right blinker started blinking very quickly and within a week, my right headlight was out.
If it has been switched off - the O / D - OFF light should light in the instrument cluster
If your check engine light is blinking with the engine running that is indicating a misfire - get your vehicle scanned for any trouble codes to diagnose and then repair the problem
Something has happen to the transmission. Had the same problem when pulling a heavier trailer, after the road levelled out, the light would go out. Check Transmission at dealer.
The overdrive on a 2002 Ford F150 4x4 may not work due to several potential issues, including a faulty overdrive switch, transmission fluid problems, or internal transmission issues such as worn clutches or solenoid failures. Additionally, a malfunctioning vehicle speed sensor can also prevent the overdrive from engaging. It's advisable to check for error codes with a diagnostic tool and inspect the transmission fluid level and condition before further troubleshooting. If these checks do not resolve the issue, consulting a professional mechanic may be necessary.
