Any infra-red image I've seen displays the opposite. In B&W, that which reflects more IR is whiter in the print, darker in the negative. In color, it's anybody's guess as to how it will reproduce. Note that I assume you are not referring to thermal images, so neither am I.
Infrared (IR) photos are taken with normal cameras using infrared film. The difference is the film used, not the camera. IR film is sensitive to the IR spectrum of light, not the visible spectrum.
red paint is the more transparent color to paint, dont know the science of that reason, but i learned about red paint the hard way.... it takes at least 3-4 coats, other colors are 2 coats normally

if IR refers to Infrared light then, the most commonly used material in day to day life is the right material... Common salt-Sodium Chloride and few other chloride salts are IR -transparent.
KBr is used mostly in IR Spectroscopy techniques because it do not absorbs moisture at room temperature as compared to NaCl. More over it do not give its own peak.

Having these combined properties lets you make a lens for visible light out of glass. Now glass is transparent to IR radiation so any glass lens would focus IR radiation.
