Depending on the year of the vehicle, Chrysler had some issues with their ignitions from the 1998 - 2004 range. The ignition switches wear badly and rather than getting it repaired, alot of times it is more cost effective to just have the ignition cylinder replaced. To tell the truth, you could get the original repaired and then end up a week later with the same issues.
The easiest way to test ignition coils on a 1992 Mustang 2.3 is to use an ohmmeter on the leads going into the coils.
No electrial spark or fire at the plugs.
If the old plugs and wires were bad I would expect the engine to start and run better.
It really needs to be diagnoised since it can be a wire or the ignition switch itself.
GO BUY A NEW IGNITION SWITCH AND KEY SET TO INSTALL IN THE COLUMN. It's not that simple smart#@$! If anyone can answer the question intelligently I would appreciate it.
