The "Land Bridge" was a theoretical "ice bridge" between East Russia and Alaka which enabled the Native Americans to travel to America. It was caused because of the most recent Ice Age because the Arctic Ice advanced to the Bering Strait (the body of water that currently seperates Alaska and Russia). There is no Land Bridge now because when the Ice Age ended the ice melted , which left only water.

What was the Beringea Land Bridge?

The Beringea Land Bridge, often referred to as Beringia, was a land connection that existed during the last Ice Age, approximately 20,000 to 30,000 years ago, between present-day Alaska in North America and Siberia in Asia. This land bridge allowed humans and various animal species to migrate between the continents as sea levels were significantly lower due to glacial ice. As the climate warmed and glaciers melted, rising sea levels submerged the land bridge, isolating the populations that had crossed it. Beringia is crucial for understanding the migration patterns of early humans into the Americas.

What happened to the beringia land bridge?

Or Bering Strait was submerged by waters from melting glaciers after the ice age. Since no humans were there back then or there to record and study the land we really have no idea what happened but what i just gave you is the assumption that many geologists have made about the whole affair.

Are bridge lengths and spans the same thing?
