In summary, a white man on an iron horse came to Abame asking directions. The oracle of their village foretold that the white man would bring destruction. The villagers then killed the man, and tied the iron horse to a tree. Later more white men arrived and saw the iron horse. They came back with many men and slaughtered the village while they were at the market. Only the old, sick and a few women survived.
