Why won't the Wii read Mario Party 8 after I select a game in the party tent?

Most likely, the data where you choose your game is corrupted because your disk is too scratched to be read. Here are some solutions. (Pick one)
# difficulty ll--- Buy a Skip doctor or another disk cleaning device at Radio shack. DON'T USE CREAM/TOOTHPASTE! They are acidic and will make it worse.
# difficulty ll--- Buy a new CD # difficulty llll- Rent/borrow a copy and then copy it onto a disk. (does not always work) # difficulty llll- Download one via torrent or direct download, then copy it to a CD. # difficulty N/A If you've made a backup, use it. # difficulty lllll Download the Home brew channel using bannerbomb and hackmii v0.3, download a usb loader apps, download Mario party 8 via torrent or direct download, use a usb stick 5Gs or higher to transfer it to your Wii and install the ISO. Alternatively you could just not use the game you selected. (This is not recommended and you'll probably encounter more problems as you use the disk.

Mario Party 7 is for the game cube and Mario Party 8 is for the Wii so the difference with the games is that the controls are way different. In other words: They Are Not The Same.
