++ANSWER++ First I have to ask a funny question... Are your dash lights on? It sounds funny, but on the 1997 Blazer there are certain defects. I also have a 1997 Blazer and I had to remove the cover under the steering wheel so I can pull or move the wires down under on the right hand side. You will know you have it right when the key is switched on, and you have dash lights. The 1997 Blazer will crank and crank, but be hard to start without adjusting the wires. I sat for 1 1/2 hours one day. This is a faulty ignition switch, that needs replaced. If not replaced it will become worse over time. The 97 will shut off when you use the wipers or turn signals... not good to have it shut off when your making a left turn in front of oncoming traffic! I have gotten quite good at 1) Shift to Neutral 2) Wiggle wires 3) Switch ignition to restart Blazer 4) shift back to drive and GET. If you go to the ntha.dot.gov site you will se there are many 1997 Blazers with this same type of problem and others... Good Luck!
I am trying to figure this out myself. I have a 96 Chevy S-10 Blazer and I believe it is the vacuum acuator located under the battery box in the engine compartment.
Was that the only code that caused you to replace it? Do you have it close enough to sense again.
Ensure fuses are good. Is there injector pulse, fuel pressure, and spark? Has work been done recently? Is there proper valve and ignition timing?
If the remote car starter stopped working after a new battery was installed in the remote, the remote needs to be reprogrammed. If the remote starter stopped working after a new battery was installed in the vehicle, the computer might need to be reset by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes.
F350 is a Ford. Why is fuel getting into the crankcase? Dead cylinder and it is running past the rings. If that's not your question, rephrase it and ask again.
When stopped or < 3 MPH push the 4WD button again and the gree light should go off and put you in 2WD.
I have a 2001 Chevy Blazer and it does the same thing. I would love to know why, but am glad mine's not the only one.
My guess is fuel pump. Either that or a clogged fuel filter.
Drain the blazer radiator. Refill with water. Open the heat on high, start the engine for a few minutes. Drain the system again Repeat this several times to get all of the old coolant out.
The fuel pump is shorting out and that is why the ecm fuse is blowing .Disconnect the the fuel pump and try it again,if the fuse blow's again then it is not the fuel pump.

I suggest changing the filter to see if that helps, If that doesn't help, getting the transmission rebuilt costs as much as the car is worth, mine cost 3000.00 but now the Blazer runs great, would I do it again? No, I would put that money toward a newer, better, suv.

it was designed, it lifted, it went, it stopped, it lifted again, it stopped again, lifted yet again, it went, it stopped, it continues. short history ends.
I linked to this website of gas mileage figures already but just to cover all the bases, here it is again. http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/bymodel/1998_Chevrolet_Blazer.shtml
egr valve clogged or not working
This is a tough one. Sometimes, it is not possible to make someone care for you once they have stopped. Counseling might be a good first option.
