First, what is the value of your time per hour? Could you use your time to make the money to pay for an experienced painter to do the painting. ? Are you experienced at painting? If not, there is a learning curve to completing a 'professional' paint job. Visible brush marks, uneven roller lines or uneven spray of paint do not make the room look 'attractive'. If you love painting & are experienced, do it. If not, hire the professional!
If you are a reasonable painter then it's much cheaper to do it yourself - if you have nothing better to do. On the other hand if you make $50 an hour doing something, then get a pro to do it.
