Conservatism. As the word implies, conservatives try to keep that witch works well from being made worse. Modernists push for new ideas in politics that are either socialistic or communistic in nature. They claim new is better and the old system is just not up to par with modern times when in fact, the opposite is true. The more you change a system of government to fit with the new status-quo, the more it is likely to fall and come apart as it is not able to stand the test of time. The old systems of government that have been in place often were set up by the founders in such a way that they are flexible enough to adapt on their own without being entirely replaced.

An example of a old system that was replaced is probably best illustrated in the Education department. Once left to the states and local authorities to handle the system now has been in the hands of the federal government for well over 5 decades and look where it has got us. The schools used to teach a solid foundational science class with notes on the Biblical creation account. Now children are indoctrinated with false theories about an evolutionary beginning where there are no absolutes and no frames of reference for laws and civilization. Combined with decisions to remove Bible reading, ten commandment displays, and prayer have all helped to make the schools a big mess today where kids run wild, over 10% of high school graduates can't read their own diplomas and guns are used by those who wish to make their own rules.

Modernism is generally dangerous. Far to many contemporary politicians side with modernistic ideas and policies.
