There are paints that can handle temperatures that high, but normal house paint is not going to do it and will just quickly burn off (possibly releasing toxic fumes in the process). You will need to get a special high temperature paint, and even for those 1500 degrees is fairly extreme. Rustoleum makes a spray paint for use on automobile engines that can allegedly tolerate up to 2000 degrees (Fahrenheit; about 1100 degrees Celsius) "intermittently", but I don't have any personal experience with it and can't say how well it would do at 1500 degrees for an extended period of time. Also, a lot of high heat coatings require "curing" at an intermediate temperature (say, 500 degrees) for some period of time; I don't know how well they'd work going from freshly painted straight to 1500 degrees.
