Cant get seat off of cb 1300 with the key inserted is there a special way to remove the seat?

stick the key in, turn it, pull down on the tab just under where the key/key hole is, while holding this down stick your fingers under the rear lip of the seat and lift in an up and backward direction. --> should pop out
