Australian way and I am not a expert but have done my own with no problems Ford manual gives you it all anyway 1 remove radiator hoses remove safety cowl if one fitted to radiator remove overflow hose remove bolts holding radiator remove from car if auto remove transmission pipes first by holding big inlet nut and turning smaller pipe nut clockwise as you look forward careful not to twist pipe undo both upper and lower then move aside 2 loosen tension nuts on both alternator and power steer pump if fitted remove fan by holding blade and turn nuts anti clockwise remove blade extension if fitted remove fans belts note which is alternator and steering pump remove pulley off pump housing remove bolts holding alternator and pump carefully move away to the side remove temp sensor wire remove all bolts retaining water pump note brackets for alternator are attached to pump remove as well now you can remove pump note some bolts on pump might be stubborn so be careful spray with wd40 first if you suspect so otherwise you will break nuts of in pump and they will have to be extracted by drill and extractor tool replacing old bolts is a good idea as there not expensive also grease new bolt threads to making removal easy next time 3 clean surface of block with a scrapper and steel wool of old gasket use gasket glue to block and surface of pump place two bolts one in each side of pump slide gasket on and gentle guide pump bolts into matching holes finger tight then rest of bolts tighten clockwise around pump going from one bolt to the opposite bolt x wise so pump is tightened evenly not forgetting that brackets have to go on when putting pump on then reassemble in reverse of assembling all other components paying attention to the pulley belts tension to the alternator and steer pump with a large srcewdriver while you tension bracket bolts good luck PS this is the AUSTRALIAN way as I am sure others would disagree
