i am quite sure you do, just pop it once the mache is dry
You could use the balloon as a mold for something by making paper mache and using the shape of the balloon for that item. Let's say you want to make a bowl. I would blow up the balloon, shred paper, and mix the paper with wheat paste. I would then put the paper mache on half of the balloon and let it dry. After it is dry I would pop the balloon and what I have left is a bowl shape. Then, I would paint the bowl and decorate it. Now you have a bowl.
To make a paper mache head, blow up a balloon to as round a shape as possible. Mix some all purpose flour with cold water to make a thick but smooth glue. Tear up an old newspaper into strips. Using a paint brush, paint each side of a strip of newspaper and attach it to the balloon. Repeat until the balloon is covered in paper. Allow to dry, then repeat with a few more layers. When the last layer is dry, take a needle or pin and pop the balloon. You can then decorate the head as desired.
To make a paper mache of a cell you will need to gather strips of paper, paste, and a blown up balloon. Next, take the strips, dip them in the paste and surround the balloon with them until it becomes covered.
To make a Paper Mache Dragon, you need a balloon, a whole lot of toilette paper tubes, and tape. Blow the balloon up to make the body and then tape the toilette paper tubes to the balloon to make the 4 legs tail and neck. Once every thing is taped caver the dragon with paper mache. To make paper mache: One part flour, two parts water.
Probably the best way to make a paper mache ball is to first plan what size of ball you wish and what kind of frame you will use to shape it. Many like to use balloons which can be popped after the paper mache has dried, leaving a shell. Balloons however are rarely perfectly round and so others use wire frames, styrofoam, old sports balls - basically anything round that won't be missed! The best way to get some ideas is to go to "Goggle Image Search" and type "Paper mache ball" and a plethora of ornaments and works will reveal themselves to you. Some links below are some variations worth perusing.
Use a funnel to insert about half a cup of beans into the balloon.Blow up the balloon, making sure not to swallow the beans, and tie it in a tight knot.Take the toilet tissue tube and cut a fringe about two inches long in half-inch intervals. Tape the toilet tissue tube to the underside of the balloon. Stuff newspaper into the toilet tissue tube and tape it shut.Cover the balloon and toilet tissue tube with paper mache. Paper mache can be made with equal parts water and flour. Mix the flour and water together. When the mixture is smooth, dip newspaper strips into the paper mache and cover the balloon and toilet tissue tube. You may paint on paper mache.
Yes paper mache can burn.
Provided the balloon material is non-toxic, reasonably durable, non-reactive to the paper mache ingredients (it probably is not unless it's water soluble!) and will allow the paper mache to adhere to its surface, you can use any kind of balloon material. The only thing is, non-latex balloons are rare, more expensive and made of mylar or synthetic plastic in order to remove rubber proteins - those which allegedly affect people with latex allergies - and thus have less ability to stretch and have thicker skin. Depending how thick this skin is, you may not be able to pop the balloon once you're done maching around it. For some models that's of no concern, but it's something to consider when starting out.
