How big does origami paper need to be?

They're invarious sizes (probably) but the biggest origami is as big as a lunchbox. Not much are big, but you could go to origami stores like origami studio, origami usa origami etc.

the more complex, the bigger paper you should have. it won't get too thick if you use big paper. for example, the origami bahamut, or divine dragon was invented with HUGE paper, by kamiya satoshi

it comes in various sizes mostly 8x11 or 12x12 but my advise PLEASE don't use it if it isn't acid-free when Scrapbooking or it will ruin ur pictures :)

you can use a square but i use printing paper then cut it you have to fold it in half then fold 2 triangles cut it will look like to squares togather
