Well, honey, you're gonna have better luck finding a unicorn than getting a manual for a Montgomery Ward sewing machine from the stone age. Your best bet is to try searching online on vintage sewing machine forums or auction sites for a miracle manual. Good luck, you're gonna need it!
I need to find out a better more descriptive or video on threading a Montgomery Ward Model 30 Streamliner sewing machine.
Montgomery Ward Model 30 aka stream liner was made by National Sewing Machine company from 1949 to about 1953 or so. It is a rotary machine with automatic tension. It does have reverse. Straight stitch only... a download of the manual can be downloaded free at Double Veil....it takes a while to show up so be patient.
The difference between an electric sewing machine and a manual sewing machine is only the method of propulsion. The electric machine uses an electric motor, while the manual machine uses a hand crank or foot pump to power it. The actual sewing machine is the same.
You can find a manual for the Wards sewing machine J285C by checking online resources such as vintage sewing machine websites, forums, or dedicated sewing communities. Websites like eBay or Etsy may also offer physical copies or PDF downloads of the manual. Additionally, you can try contacting Montgomery Ward’s customer service or searching library archives for historical manuals.
The National Sewing Machine Company produced the Damascus sewing machine and sold it through Montgomery Wards catalog.
