This is to change the whole indicator. If you only need to replace the bulb, the action would be the same but you could put the same indicator back in without replacing anything except the bulb. Note: the bulb itself is an orange colour, not the lens of the indicator.
Open the bonnet. At the front top corner of the old indicator you will see a Phillips head screw - note the alignment and positioning of the two elements the screw is connecting - remove the screw and keep it.
The whole indicator unit will now slide forward and out. It will take some pressure, as a pressurised plastic shoe seats the two bulbouse aluminum pins you can see on the new indicator unit.
I found that carefully using a flathead screwdriver to lever the old indicator forward helped.
Once the indicator unit has popped (no sound) out forwards, it will be attached to the car by a wire at the back with about 150mm of free play. The wire connects to a plastic shoe for the bulb that removes from the indicator with a push and a twist as it is a bayonette type connection. The old indicator is out and free of the car.
Inserting the new indicator is the same, but in reverse. I found insertion harder than removal, as the pressure required to push the unit into the pressure clips felt dangerously close to cracking the plastic lens. My left hand spread over the side of the indicator spread load and pushed back as the palm and heel of my right hand tapped the front to get the new indicator into place.
Mind that you don't fold the rubber seal under itself as you slide in the indicator. I used a small piece of cardboard (tissuebox) between the rear tip of the rubber and the car body to assist with the sliding, as I was pushing the indicator.
Once in place (you can tell by the alignment of where the screw came from, and the headlight and indicator will be flush) replace the screw, test the indicator and hit the road.
