on top of the upper intake there is a screw. it can be used to adjust idle speed.
To adjust the idle on a 1994 Mazda RX-7 with a 13B engine, first ensure the engine is fully warmed up. Locate the idle adjustment screw on the throttle body, which typically requires a flathead screwdriver. Turn the screw clockwise to increase idle speed or counterclockwise to decrease it, while monitoring the tachometer to achieve the desired RPM, typically around 800-900 RPM. After adjustment, verify that the idle is stable and recheck if necessary.
13b or 13b turbo
The Mazda 13B rotary engine rotates in a clockwise direction when viewed from the front of the engine.
the American 13B-S5 has 200hp the JDM 13B-S5 (which is what I have) has 220
engine core - about 90kg's.
My 91 rx7 idles at 1000-1200, which i believe is the norm.
To set the timing on a Mazda 13B rotary engine after a rebuild, first ensure that the engine is at top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke for the leading rotor. Then, align the timing marks on the rotor housing with the appropriate marks on the front cover. Adjust the ignition timing, typically to around 1.5 to 2 degrees before TDC, using a timing light while ensuring the engine is running smoothly. Finally, double-check for any vacuum leaks and confirm the timing remains stable at idle.
Depends, which engine is in the 85, 13b or 12a?
140 nm
Gsl= 12A , Gsl-se 13B.
the idle up and down is due to the idle air control . coolant runs through it telling the engine what the air temp is and adjust intake air according to coolant temp .. or you might just need to make sure there is enough coolant in the system . as for smoke there could be a stuck open oil metering valve or injector or a bad oil seal . master Mazda tech .
Mazda's 13B for the 1986-88 RX-7 made 146hp without a turbo and 185hp with a turbo.
