To change the rear brakes on a 1999 Polaris 335 Sportsman 4x4, first, elevate the rear of the ATV and secure it on jack stands. Remove the rear wheels and then take off the brake caliper by unbolting it from the mounting bracket. Replace the brake pads, ensuring they are properly seated, and reassemble the caliper. Finally, reattach the wheels, lower the ATV, and test the brakes before riding.

To adjust the rear brakes on a Polaris 450 Sportsman, start by checking the brake fluid level in the reservoir and ensuring it’s at the proper level. Next, locate the adjustment screw on the brake lever or pedal, and turn it to increase or decrease the brake engagement as needed. Finally, test the brakes by applying them to ensure they engage smoothly without dragging or being too loose, making further adjustments if necessary. Always refer to the owner's manual for specific instructions related to your model.
