You can apply a known force to the unknown mass, and measure its acceleration
in response to the force.
Then use Newton's good old 300-year-old formula: F = M A
With just a touch of algebra, you can solve this formula for M . . . M = F / A
and there you have it.

To calculate the mass of an object using a Newton meter, you would measure the force of gravity acting on the object in Newtons, and then divide this force by the acceleration due to gravity (9.8 m/s^2) to find the mass in kilograms. The formula is mass = force of gravity / acceleration due to gravity.
Weight = (mass) x (local acceleration of gravity). Mass = (weight) / (local acceleration of gravity) If you know the weight and the local acceleration of gravity, you can calculate the mass.
