The Miata horn is located 6-8" to the left of the hood lock assembly towards the passenger side. It is held by a single bolt that also grounds the horn for electrical signal. The horn is hidden behind the bumper. Remove this bolt and you will be able to remove the horn by reaching up inside the mouth of the car. There will be a single, black electrical spade connector that is removed.
The horn is right in front of the radiator, on the passenger side on the 2000 Miata. You can see the bracket holding the horn, just to the left of center next to the hood locking mechanism.
To change the horn in a 2008 Mazda Miata, start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal to prevent any electrical issues. Remove the grille or any components obstructing access to the horn, typically located near the front of the vehicle. Disconnect the wiring harness from the old horn, unbolt it, and then replace it with the new horn by reversing the removal process. Reconnect the battery and test the new horn to ensure it's functioning properly.
We have a 1995 Miata and the horn stops working from time to time. If you lift the hood, right in front of the radiator, the horn plugs in. I just re plug it when it happens. I hope this is what your miata is doing.
