I believe that you have the VG30 engine, if this is true you have to remove all of the belts and to do that you must find all of the adjuster screws for the accessories that are attached to the appropiate belts and lossen the pivot bolts. once all other belts are removed you can begin replacing. my advice is to replace all the belts while you are there and save your self from the hassle of this again.
how do you change the serpentine belt on a 2001 Rodeo
Yes the 2000 passport has a timing belt as does its identical twin the Isuzu Rodeo.

it¨s a timing belt..
To change the fan belt on an Isuzu Rodeo, first, ensure the engine is off and cool. Locate the tensioner pulley and use a wrench to relieve tension on the belt, allowing you to remove the old belt. Route the new belt according to the belt diagram usually found on the radiator support or in the owner's manual, and then reapply tension using the tensioner. Finally, double-check the alignment and tension of the new belt before starting the engine.

When changing the serpentine belt it is important to have a diagram. The diagram of the serpentine belt of a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo 6-cylinder can be found in its manual or a print out can be obtained at an auto part store.
