take a n arrow blade flat screw driver, and carefully place it in the circular space at the drive ens of the t4immer. not the end with the charger hole for the pin.
Carefully twist the screw drive, which with a good twist will start to open the plastic enclosure.
Once you have started to splt the case, with the screwdriver still in place, insert the wide blade of a penknife in the open sidie of toe case, and twist the blade until the case opens. The bushing at the drive end will probably pop off, but can be re-inserted when you snap the case back torether.
The N i-Cd battery can be poped out of a standard AA holder.
This battery has a puzzling ID which I have not yet been able to find on-line.
