Remove right saddlebag, pull the two caliper mounting bolts and remove the caliper. Do not open bleeder or disconnect line. You will need to push a large screwdriver between the old pads before removing them in order to push the pucks back into the caliper or the new pads will not spread enough to reinstall. Then pull the two smaller bolts from the caliper and the pads will fall out. The pads are different for inside and outside, so pay attention, and remember, after reinstalling, before riding, be sure to pump brake pedal, and it may take a few stops before brakes stop as effectively as before.

I changed just my rear brake. It started with me lifting my bike using a motorcycle jack.

# Take the bolts out of the top part of the shocks. (It allows easier access) # Take the cotter pin out of the bolt that goes through the rim. # Use a rubber mallet to tap the bolt out until the tire releases. # Disconnect bracket that holds the brake line down on swingarm.

# Slide the brake caliper off the lip on the swingarm. # There are two small bolts on the side of the caliper that need to unscrewed. These bolts go through the brake pads. On my bike they are 1/4 with 12 points, good luck trying to find this in your toolbox. Leave the large bolts alone, they will breakdown the caliper, you don't need to do that. # After replacing the pads reassemble in reverse order. # Don't touch the bolts at the end of the swingarm or the wheel may wobble. They fall out when you take the bolt out of the rim. # Put the bike in neutral and spin the rim. Make sure the wheel turns smooth. If not, adjust bolts at the end of swingarm. That should do it.

Remove the tire and wheel. Remove the brake pad springs. The brake pads will come off. Reverse the process to install the new brake pads.
