A 5906 what? As a general rule, barrel bushings are one piece and do not disassemble. I am Sorry...: How do you "remove" a S&W 5906 barrel bushing ?? It sounds like an after market barrel of some type. The 5906 does not have a barrel bushing. The barrel is "belled". www.alpharubicon.com/leo/breakdown5906.htm This link will show you how to disassemble it.
A barrel bushing is a component found in some semi-automatic handguns, particularly in models like the 1911. It is a cylindrical part that fits into the slide and surrounds the barrel, helping to stabilize it and maintain alignment during firing. The bushing typically allows for the removal and installation of the barrel and can be adjusted for precision in fit, affecting accuracy and reliability. Proper fitting of the barrel bushing is essential for optimal firearm performance.
You will need a slide/ barrel bushing that will fit the barrel you want to install.
Frame, barrel, trigger, bushing, firing pin, firing pin spring, barrel bushing, hanmmer, strut, backstrap to name a few.

Disassemble to do what? To remove the trigger group you need to push out the two pins in the receiver to remove the trigger group. To remove the bolt you need to take the barrel off which requires an armorers barrel wrench.
To disassemble a standard M1911A1 (no full-length guide rod), first press the magazine release and drop the magazine. Then pull the slide all the way back to ensure that the chamber is empty. Allow the slide to return to battery. Push down on the recoil spring plug and turn the barrel bushing to the side and remove the recoil spring. Push the slide back until the takedown notch is in line with the back of the slide release. Push the slide release out from the right side of the pistol. Now push the slide forward until it comes off of the frame. Now rotate the barrel bushing until it comes out of the slide. Push the barrel forward until it comes out of the slide. Your 1911 is now field stripped. To reassemble it, reverse these steps.
Insert the barrel into the slide. On the barrel, behind where the recoil spring guide sits, you'll find a barrel link. Rotate that link up so it's perpendicular to the barrel. Insert the barrel bushing and rotate it clockwise until it stops. Then install the recoil spring guide. Being mindful of that link remaining perpendicular to the barrel, slip the frame onto the slide and pull it back until the takedown notch is aligned with the rectangular cutout on the frame, and you can see through the barrel link when looking through the slidestop hole. Install the slidestop pin through the slidestop hole and barrel link until it sits flush against the frame. Make sure the bushing is fully turned clockwise and install the spring and plug onto the recoil guide rod. compress the spring until you can maneuver the barrel bushing wrench over the bushing with the plug and spring under it. Compress the spring with the wrench while turning the bushing counterclockwise enough to lock the plug in place. Cycle the action to make sure you got it, and you're done!
For which make & model rifle??
Please don't rotate the barrel. I cant tell you the number of times that I've seen beautiful old Remington 51's buggered by trying to disassemble them like a Colt or FN.I'm just sniping the disassemble partDisassembly:Remove the magazine.Cock the gun (make sure the chamber is empty).Hold the slide back about one-quarter inch to align the half-moon cutout on the left side of the slide with the barrel pin. Poke the end of the barrel pin on the right side, to raise the head of the pin on the left side. Remove the pin with a small screwdriver or the toe of the magazine base plate.Pull the slide back about three-quarters of an inch and grasp the end of the barrel (which has serrations to assist gripping it). Depress the grip safety and pull the slide and barrel assembly off the receiver.Pull the barrel forward about a half-inch against the tension of the recoil spring and tilt the barrel lug toward the left, locking the barrel into a recess in the slide.Press the moveable breech block backward against the tension of the firing pin spring and lift up at its rear (you may need something to pry it up). With the rear of the block lifted up, you can move the breech block forward and remove it from the slide. (The extractor may fall out on the .32 models--there is no spring.)Tip the slide so the firing pin and its spring can drop out the end of the barrel.Pull the barrel forward against the tension of the recoil spring. You will see there is a recess in the slide that is the exact size of the recoil spring bushing. Tilt the barrel up and catch the bushing against the rear of this recess, then slide the barrel backward and lift it up and out of the slide, followed by the bushing and recoil spring. You may have to pull the bushing back toward the front of the slide a little to free it.Assembly:Insert the recoil spring and bushing into the slide and tilt the bushing up a little so it catches on the slide recess.Insert the barrel and push it toward the front of the slide, compressing the recoil spring and bushing, and snap it into place in the slide. (You may have to compress the spring and bushing by hand to get them to snap into place.)Pull the barrel forward about a half-inch against the tension of the recoil spring and tilt the barrel lug toward the left, locking the barrel into its recess in the slide.Insert the firing pin and spring into the fixed part of the breech that is attached to the slide.Hook the fore part of the moveable breech block over the front of the firing pin spring and pull it backward and down at the rear until it snaps into place in the slide.Unhook the barrel from its recess, slide it back against the breech block, and make sure the barrel lug is centered properly.Align the slide on the forward end of the receiver and install it on its rails. Push it back until it is stopped by the disconnector, which projects upward just behind the magazine well. You may encounter some resistance, but this is normal. You may have to depress the ejector to get it out of the way.Depress the grip safety, push the disconnector down, and press the slide back until it locks onto the receiver.Hold the slide back about one-quarter inch to align the half-moon cutout on the left side of the slide with the hole in the receiver and insert the pin that holds the barrel in place.Replace the magazine.AnswerSimilar to the Colt 1903 series. When you pull the slide back slightly you will be able to rotate the barrel to unlock it. Disassembly is actually pretty complicated. I suggest you purchase one of the reproduction factory owners manuals.
You can request a owner's manual on the S&W web site.
