How do you drain fuel tank on cub cadet?

Without removing the tank, the easiest way is to remove the fuel line from the tank, connect a 2 foot piece of line to the tank, open the petcock and drain into a bucket or gas can. To remove any left over fuel in hard to reach places, use an old turkey baster.

Answer 1I've never had a Cub Cadet, but most lawn equipment is almost the same.

First is to condider SAFETY. Be sure to do the tank draing process outside, away from any ignition sources for the gasoline fumes which will be generated in the process.

Next, IF there is a fuel shutoff valve at the tank outlet, turn it OFF. Place a suitable container just below and near where the fuel line attaches to the carburetor.

If there is NOT a fuel shutoff valve, you'll need to use some type of clamp on the flexible rubber fuel hose from to tank to the carburetor. Barring that, have a helper [or you can do it yourself] "pinch off" the hose while you loosen the hose clamp at the carburetor.

Once the hose clamp at the carburetor inlet fitting is loose, gently twist and pull until the rubber fuel line seperates from the carb inlet fitting.

The place the hose end into or directly over the container, release the clamping pressure on the line, allowing the fuel to drain from the tank into the container.

When completed, properly seal the container, and store it in a safe location away from ignition sources.

if you are removing the tank, then you can put a jack with a flat board under it remove it and then remove the fuel pump and siphon out the fuel so replacing it is easier. a junk yard method to empty a tank without removing the tank would be to dissconnect the fuel line and run a hot wire to the pump and collect fuel from the line. of course there is probly a better way!
