Zant is in the twilight realm. You need to retrieve the two balls of light from the sides of the castle first, starting with the door on the left. Once you get deep in, you'll come across a ball. pick it up in human form. notice that the red fog disappears when you get close to it with the ball. run back out, and don't let the hand get the ball! if it does, try to shoot it with arrows, or else you'll have to go all the way back for the ball. Do the same thing on the other side of the castle, and your sword will be given the power of light. swinging it will get rid of red fog and shadows. swing it near the shadow waterfall to get through and progress through the castle to zant.
