For a Murray ride-on mower with a 40-inch cutting deck and a 14.5 HP engine, you typically need a blade belt that is approximately 1/2 inch wide and around 90 to 95 inches long, depending on the specific model. It's essential to consult your owner's manual or check with a local dealer for the exact belt size, as variations can exist between different models. Always ensure the replacement belt matches the specifications for optimal performance.

There are many questions that need to be answered before this can be answered. - is this mower one that drives it self or is a ride on - what is the trade name and year of manufacture of the mower. - Is it chain drive , friction drive , belt or hydraulic drive or any other The main thing is you have established that is the drive system that is at fault and when you know what type of drive system you have, it will highlight where the fault may be
I believe it has to do with the main drive belt. (The brake on these types of mowers are almost useless.) If the main drive belt is to short it engages the slip pulley that drives the transmission. I replaced an original belt that was bad with a replacement that was about an inch shorter and my mower would not stop. Replaced the belt again with the exact size required and problem solved ... BUT ...About a month later the same thing happened. The mower would not stop when i released the drive pedal and i ruined my transmission "snapping it out of gear to stop the mower. Now i suspect it may be a worn "slip pulley" causing the main drive belt to ride closer to the spindle on this particular pulley, this , I believe , will cause the pulley to turn faster thus engaging the transmission. This pulley is similar to an adjustable type but it "slips" . On my Troy Bilt it is located in the rear right over the transmission. Hope this helps someone because i have spent hours trying to solve this problem.

To replace the belt engager on a McCULLOCH zero turn ride-on mower, first, ensure the mower is turned off and disconnect the battery for safety. Remove the mower deck to access the belt engager, typically by unscrewing the retaining bolts. Detach the old belt engager from its mounting points and install the new one in its place, ensuring proper alignment. Finally, reassemble the mower deck, reconnect the battery, and test the engagement to ensure it operates correctly.
Either push it, or ride it, or put it in a pickup and drive it, or teleport it
The drive belt size for the MT 580 Viking Cyclon ride-on mower is typically 5/8" x 80". However, it's always recommended to check the owner's manual or consult with the manufacturer for the most accurate specifications, as variations may exist based on specific models or production years.
hi, you could try getting an old dc generator/starter motor from an old ride on lawn mower and run it off the belt drive, you would also have a build in charger for your cart, cheers jacko
