to get into a "top high school" you probably have to get amazing grades. but another thing my friend did was apply for scholarships but these tests are really hard, so i wouldn't recommend it if you werent a very birght kid. so yeah but if youre still looking have a look at the school you want to go to be and see if they have scholarship tests. ohh and maybe if youre really good at say sport you could ask your sport teacher for a reccomedation to say ohh yeah he/she is and amazing sport person and is also very good in hhis/her studies.
