I payed the online Mercedes tech and this is so simple. This is caused by the cassette/tape door just below the screen not closing correctly from the door popping off. There are vertical door closers on each side behind the door (plastic rectangle below the screen) if you remove it and look closely you can see detents or catches for the door that must catch while sliding into place.. use a mini flat head screwdriver if needed to see how the tensioners move vertically.
I figured i would post this up so no-one else has to pay for such an easy fix as it is posted no-where online!!!
