How do you get shiny starters in pearl and diamond?

you can continuisly turn the game on and off but i wuoldn't cuz the chances are 1/1891 and you can catch shiny red garados at the lake of rage guarantied and shiny Pokemon have the exact same stats,so...unles it is REALY important 2 u.

You save it before you go into The lake at the start of the game go in to the lake and choose the Pokemon u want if its not a shiny turn it off and keep repeating the process it just depends on your luck
