Depending on what the odor ,is but I have 2 dogs in my house and they have a dog smell. I always sprinkle baking soda or carpet powder about every few days. It is safe on fabric too. My mom just gave me some upholstered chairs which smelled like cigarettes (really bad) I left them in my garage for a few days and sprinkled baking soda on them. You can hardly smell it any longer. It has been about two weeks.
Smart and final carpet cleaner smells real good and cleans great and it's cheap! :)
Empty it and vacuum up carpet cleaner sprinkled on your carpet with the scent you like.
The pet stores have some pretty good carpet cleaning products..
To get rid of damp smells from your carpet, you can sprinkle baking soda over the affected area, let it sit for a few hours, and then vacuum it up. You can also use a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar in a spray bottle to spray the affected area, let it sit for a few minutes, then blot it with a clean cloth. Making sure the area is well ventilated and using a dehumidifier can also help eliminate damp smells.
If the carpet originally smelled like that before you moved in, the landlord would have to do something about that. If it began smelling like cat urine after you moved in, I believe you would have to take care of that. Check your contract with the landlord.
Please help me shampoo the carpet tomorrow. The dog could also use a nice shampoo. Your shampoo smells very nice.
There are two answers to this question. The first answer is that you must schedule a professional carpet cleaning service whenever your carpet looks or smells less than perfect. You should always schedule a service when your carpet starts to look dingy or does not smell as fresh as you would like. You may have seen a few cleaning tools in stores or online. Can those cleaners take the place of specialized carpet cleaning? The answer is no. A few of these carpet cleaning tools are right for cleaning up the occasional spill or pet accident, but they're not going to get the same results as a specialized carpet cleaners would.
Yes, baking soda (bicarbonate of soda) can be effective in removing odors from carpets. Sprinkle it over the carpet, let it sit for some time, then vacuum it up. The baking soda can help absorb and neutralize odors leaving the carpet smelling fresh.
