The question is, how does one help oneself or whom should one contact? Hoarding treatment depends on the kind of hoarder but for the most part, it is not recommended for one to do it alone (which is a discussion of its own!). There are a various types of companies to contact for hoarders help. A specialized company is in my opinion the best way to treat the condition. Your best bet is to conduct a search and do research on the company. There is a company in New York that I can personally recommend called Hoarders911 that helped my father's condition. Alternatively, having a loved one whom you trust that is willing to dedicate the time is a cheaper solution, but again, I do not recommend doing it alone!
