There are a lot of Wives' tales about how to tell whether you are having a boy or girl when you are pregnant. One of them is that a boy is carried higher than a girl. Another one is you gain more fat in your buttocks while pregnant if it is a girl whereas you don't gain much if any at all here if it is a boy. These have been debunked and are not 100% positive. It's not even 100% positive in an ultrasound if it is a boy or girl but it is usually very accurate. One reason it's not 100% in an ultrasound would be the positioning of the baby. If the baby's legs are folded too close together or is somehow covering him or herself, the doctor won't be able to tell. They can sometimes tell by the rate of the baby's heartbeat whether it is a boy or girl, but it's not always accurate either.
