Typically, wearing a fascinator to a funeral is considered inappropriate, as these accessories are often associated with formal or celebratory occasions. Kate Middleton, known for her fashion choices, usually adheres to traditional mourning attire, which generally includes a simple hat or no hat at all. Therefore, it is unlikely that she would wear a fascinator to a funeral.
A fascinator is a headpiece. In the early days it was a shawl made from wool or lace. Nowadays a fascinator is sometimes worn instead of a hat. The use of these fascinators became popular around 1990.

Fascinator is the same in English and French. The pronunciation of the masculine singular noun -- which designates an attractive headgear competitive with hats and popularized initially by Queen Marie Antoinette (November 2, 1755 - October 16, 1793) and recently by Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (born January 9, 1982) -- will be "fa-see-na-tor" in French.
A "fascinator" is a triangular shawl or scarf, usually crocheted, that can double as a bonnet. It was a popular item with frontier women.
