But it's easy to make shapes that have provably the same area as large squares and rectanges if you combine the 15 degree angle of the white rhombus with any 60 degree angled shape - the equilateral triangle for example - to make right angles. The white rhombus is necessary - without it, the remainder of the shapes have only 60 and/or 120 degree angles.
