Step 1, Ensure the front hubs are set to lock. In the centre of each front wheel is a dial. You have 2 options FREE or LOCK. Lock is for 4wd, Free is for 2wd. Step 2, Using the clutch move the small gear stick, between the front seats to Either H4 or L4. H4 enguages 4wd and keeps the gears the same as they are usually, ie highway driving. L4 or Low 4 enguages a whole new set of lower gears designed for tough, slow off roading.

These older Suzuki's are famous for bad capacitors in the Engine Computer, They can be repaired. There are several places that do it, including some folks on Ebay.
To set the distributor on a 1991 Suzuki Sidekick, first, ensure the engine is at Top Dead Center (TDC) on the compression stroke for cylinder number one. Then, remove the distributor cap and align the rotor to point towards the number one spark plug terminal. After that, carefully insert the distributor into the engine, ensuring it engages with the drive gear correctly. Finally, recheck the timing using a timing light and adjust as necessary.
There are no pickups that i kno of that have front wheel drive....unless it has 4 wheel drive
