There are so many different ways to raise hogs. The way you raise them depends on how many you plan on having. For instance, if you want to only raise a few you provide them with a small durrable shelter(keep in mind they are very destructive creatures and can desroy just about anything) then feed them your choice of food 2-3 times a day depending on how fast you want them to grow. Also, you should provide them with fresh water all day. It is the most important nutrient for a pig. Another thing you might want to keep in mind is that if your pig was not breed to be on cement than you want to make sure you provide it with bedding otherwise their legs will get stiff and you will notice them walking like a robot.

That's the basics of raising a hog on the small scale.

Now if you would like to have a large opperation, it is a lot different. First off, you will need a large area for either a barn or outside pen to house your pigs in. If you choose an outside area, be sure to provide them with a shelter as well to stay out of the sun, heat, wind, or snow. Pigs are very prone to sunburn in the summer, and dry skin in the winter. In most cases, their backs will form large cracks in the skin, bag balm is a great cure for that. Feeding is the same, the choice of feed might differ though. Most pigs that come from a large commercial farm are raised to be on cement and other hard flores because of sanitary issues. That's another thing you would need to look into. ALWAYS have a standard procedure on a large farm for sanitation pourposes. Pigs are prone to more diseased than any other farm animal imaginable! One pig infected with disease can wipe out an entire herd!
