1) Disconnect battery ground cable. 2) Relieve fuel system pressure at schrader valve under the hood. 3) Drain/Siphon the fuel tank. Open fuel door, remove fuel cap, 4) remove 3 screws from top of filler neck. 5) Raise vehicle and remove LH rear wheel and tire assembly.
6) Disconnect the vapor recirculation tube connector. Remove dogpoint screw on filler pipe. Exercise care not to damage grommet or check valve at end of pipe. If filler pipe needs clearance for removal, slightly loosen tank straps.
A) Slide fuel pipe into tank enough to obtain clearance.
B) Rotate pipe CCW 1/2 turn and remove the fuel filler pipe.
7) Disconnect fuel pump connector located above the #4 crossmember.
8) Disconnect the fuel lines using tool (T90T-9550-s)
9) Disconnect the vapor tub from the tee on the RH side of vehicle. Hint: squeeze the fitting to disconnect.
10) Disconnect the vapor tube from the canister tube at elbow. (Replace with new clamp later on assembly)
11) Position safety support under vehicle.
12 Remove the nuts and swing the fuel tank straps away from the fuel tank.
13) Lower the fuel tank.
14) Remove and discard the fuel tank mounting studs.
note: When reconnecting the fuel lines, install the upper supply line first which has a label on it.
You must remove the entire rear fender.
It is inside of the fuel tank. You have to remove gas tank to service it.
It is in the fuel tank, NO KIDDING, You have to remove the gas tank to get to it.
You must drop the fuel tank.
