There is no method or product which will remove highlighter marks undetectably. Like erasing strong pencil or ink marks from paper, the paper will show signs of having been treated. Highlighter marks can be bleached out. I use full strength Clorox type bleach and Q tips along with paper towels and a household iron. I try to minimize wrinkling the paper by limiting the time it is exposed to the liquid bleach which is why I don't dilute the bleach. With the iron on medium low I quickly iron the highlighted page so that when I apply the bleach to the highlighted paper with my wet but not drippy Q tip the paper dries quickly and with little wrinkling or distortion. The warmed paper also speeds up the reaction between bleach and the colored highlighter ink which vanishes almost instantly. I only allow the wet bleach to be on the paper for a second or two after which I quickly blot or wipe away any remaining liquid bleach. I put a dry paper towel over the page and run the iron over it. If I am faced with large highlighted areas it is necessary to break the job into smaller pieces to avoid getting the page too wet or leaving the liquid on too long. If I do get a wrinkly page I can often iron the wrinkles out with my trusty iron still using a paper towel to cover the page.

Why does tonic water not glow when mixed with green highlighter ink?

Tonic water does not glow when mixed with green highlighter ink because the quinine in tonic water, responsible for fluorescence under UV light, is not reactive to the wavelength of light emitted by the green highlighter ink. The fluorescent properties of quinine are specific to certain wavelengths of UV light, which the green highlighter ink does not produce.

What are the elements in a highlighter?

The main components of a highlighter are a barrel, an ink reservoir, a nib, and ink. The barrel is typically made of plastic or metal and holds the ink reservoir, which feeds ink to the nib. The nib is the felt or foam tip that delivers the ink onto the paper.

To take apart a highlighter, you typically need to remove the cap and grip section. Then, gently pull the ink cartridge out of the barrel. Be careful not to break any delicate components during disassembly.

How do you make uv ink?

One easy way is to use erasable highlighter. Draw your design with the highlighter, then erase it. It will still fluoresce under UV light. Or if you don't have erasable highlighter, you can use alcohol to "remove" normal highlighter. Obviously the alcohol method doesn't work well with paper, but is great for skin and other surfaces.

How do you drain a highlighter?

To drain a highlighter, you can leave it uncapped and upside down overnight to allow the ink to flow towards the tip. You can also gently tap the highlighter on a hard surface to help the ink flow more quickly. Be careful not to apply too much pressure to avoid damaging the highlighter.

What to do if you can see through highlighter?
