to remove the piston, you need to remove the carb and intake. You will then remove the 4 acorn nuts from the top of the cylinder head and the 2 bolts on the left side of the head. You can then remove the cylinder head and slide the cylinder up off of the 4 studs while insuring the piston is sliding out the bottom of the cylinder. Also take care in making sure the piston and connecting rod do drop against the studs as it exits the cylinder. To replace the piston, simply remove the cir-clip from either end of the recessed area in either side of the piston and you should be able to push the wrist pin from the connescting rod and piston. It is recommended that you replacee the cir-clip with a new one upon reassembly. And of course, you should reassemble with new head and cylinder-to-block gaskets.
