It is hard to remove a steering wheel by hand. A person has to use a steering wheel puller to remove the steering wheel. It applies pressure to the middle with a screw/bolt and it pulls the rest forward.Ê
How do you remove the steering wheel on a 1998 Chevy astro van
i have a 1993 ford f 150 truck , it has the same problem, i removed the steering wheel and found a bad bearing. i just need a schematic drawing to see how to replace, and to see the order in which to remove.
underneath steering wheel right above the hood realease
you need to remove the horn button, should just pop out of the steering wheel, then remove the center nut and you will need a wheel puller to pull the steering wheel, then the switch will be easily accessible
Hi I use to drive a 87 van and recently bought a 88 so I am pretty sure that it is the same but you push the blinker lever forward. Hope this helps.
You should be able to pull off the horn button in the middle. There might be a wire going from the button to a hole in the steering wheel, just push in and rotate to remove it. There should be a clip that you pry off. You can the use a steering wheel remover to pull off the wheel. The 1994 Chevy Astro EXT van has 4 bolts behind the steering wheel/airbag/horn assembly to remove the horn/airbag assembly.
There should be an alignment mark on the steering shaft and the steering wheel.
Should be at the lower end of the steering column at the firewall
The "clockspring" carries power for steering wheel mounted accessories from the steering column into the steering wheel while at the same time allowing the steering wheel to rotate.
I believe it is under the steering column , behind a panel that has quick release fasteners
I am hoping someone has the answer to this question, as I am trying to remove the chairs from the middle of my 89 Starcraft conversion van.
Need to replace the ignition in my econoline ford van
