From the Rival people! Sounds too good to be true? The number is 1-800-323-9519! I had the same part go out on my girlfriend's slicer. The part number for the idler gear for slicer model 1042 is Part#04XRL10423 It is a mere $3 plus shipping! Granted, I wasn't very happy paying $5.95 shipping, but at $9, it's still much cheaper than buying a new slicer. Hope this helps!
