It takes a very long time to get it off. You hold the top with a 15mm open end wrench with the handle over top of the coil spring. Then you turn the shock body with a 17mm wrench up near the top. It will probably be very rusty. You can only turn the shock 1/6 of a turn at a time and there are a lot of threads.
After I finally got the top off, I broke the bottom post off trying to get the nut off.

If you are laying on your back looking up, then the relay for the radiator cooling fan is located on the chassis just to the left of the fan. It is to the front right of the front tire on the driver's side. Remove the air filter housing and it is along the side of the "frame"
I think you have to remove the driver's side front tire and the battery is up in front of that. Believe it or not!
