The EGR warning light will illuminate after the first 60,000 miles. This indicates that the ignition timing should be checked and adjusted as necessary and that the O2 sensor, EGR control valve, hose and tube and the PCV valve should be inspected and repaired or replaced as necessary.
After the adjustments or repairs are made, reset light by disconnecting ground connector from combination meter,Fig. 2, wrapping connector with tape to prevent shorting, starting engine and ensuring light does not illuminate.
where is the EGR valve on a 1989 mazda b2200
This has been answered and do a seach and it will take you step by step and word it just as you placed your question about it!
To reset the EGR light on a 1986 Mazda B2000, first ensure that the EGR system is functioning properly and any underlying issues are addressed. Disconnect the vehicle's battery for about 10-15 minutes to reset the onboard computer. Reconnect the battery, and then start the engine to check if the light has turned off. If the light persists, further diagnostics may be needed to identify any remaining issues with the EGR system.
To reset the EGR light on a 1987 Subaru GL Wagon, you typically need to disconnect the battery for a few minutes to clear the engine control module (ECM) memory. Alternatively, you can use an OBD-I scanner to clear any error codes related to the EGR system. Ensure that any underlying issues are resolved before resetting the light to avoid it coming back on. Always refer to the vehicle's service manual for specific procedures.
I don't know much about the EGR valve yet....but i know some autoparts stores can reset your light for free...just call around.
The EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) light is alerting you to inspect and service the EGR system. The light is triggered by the odometer, not the system, so after it is checked and serviced, you'll need to reset it under the dash board.
check engine light reset on a 1999 Acura CL 3.0.. Just replaced the egr valve. Thx
Because you did not have a faulty EGR valve. You misdiagnosed the problem. Start over and remember the code only tells you what part is being effected not necessarily the defective part. This is assuming you reset the light or drove the car enough cycles for the light to reset. If not then reset the light and see if it comes back on.
You can reset it with your OBD reader or you can disconnect the negative battery cable for a couple of minutes to reset the check engine light.
Try removing negative battery cable for 10 minutes. If that does not work you will need an OBD2 scan tool to reset the light. I just cleaned my egr valve and the check engine light went off and I drove it a little and it came back on how long do I have to drive my car after work with the egr valve how many miles
Most are located behind the gauge cluster. You have to remove the trim and four screws to get to the little switch either by the spedo cable or lower right corner of the cluster. ( if this a 120,000 mile interval, remove the light!) REMOVE TRIM COVER FROM RIGHT LOWER DASH, YOU WILL SEE A SMALL SWITCH. USING A LONG SCREWDRIVER YOU CAN MOVE SWITCH AND RESET EGR LIGHT.
You need to reset the light with a OBD2 scan tool, after a repair. If you did reset the light and it just came back on, then you have not found the problem. Remember when reading codes, the code does not tell you what component is bad. It only tells you what component is being effected.
