Remove the cover of the engine which has the pullstarter in it,
Clean it well before starting,
Looking at the underside - there are three bent over metal tabs, and a pulley,
Remove the leftover string noting where the knot sat and where the hole is,
WITHOUT removing the pulley, unbend the tabs that are holding the pulley in,
Keep a hand on the pulley AT ALL TIMES, as if it comes out so will the spring,
Tie a knot in the end of the new string, and feed the other end into the hole in the pulley, and out the hole in the housing,
Put the starter handle on the end of the string and tie a big knot,
You shoud now have the string fitted, ready for tensioning,
To tension, pick the string out between the pulley and the housing, near where the little notch is in the pulley, so you can grab the string and pull some out like a loop,
Then grabing the string, which is in the notch and now has some slack, turn the pulley and string together, in the direction (usually anticlockwise) it turns when your pulling the starter handle, go around a few times, then while still holing the pulley in - pull the string by the starter handle to suck in the slack,
Repeat this until required spring tension reached,
Bend over at least on tab to keep the pulley in the housing.

Check the underneath of lawn mower for grass built up.
I'm doing this now. i drilled through the rivets. started with an 1/8th drill bit and a little oil on top of the rivet. the problem is going to be finding replacement screws that will hold the starter cage once you have replaced the cord. some Briggs and stratton engineer needs to be taken to the wood shed.
Remove gas tank and plastic shroud covering engine. Remove metal engine shroud and debris screen. Starter pulley and recoil assembly are underneath screen.
To adjust the choke on a Briggs and Stratton engine, locate the choke lever, usually found on the carburetor or near the air filter. For starting, set the choke to the closed position to enrich the fuel mixture, then pull the starter cord. Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke to the open position as the engine warms up to ensure smooth operation. Always refer to the specific model's manual for detailed instructions.

To restring Anderson windows, first, remove the window sash by sliding it out of the frame. Next, detach the old cords or strings from the pulleys and weights, then replace them by threading new cord through the pulleys and attaching them to the weights. Reassemble the window sash and ensure the cords are properly tensioned for smooth operation. Finally, test the window to ensure it opens and closes correctly.
The points on the engine of this mower will need reset. The top of the engine will have to come off in order to gain access to the points, the easiest way to set them is by using a thin pieces of corrugate.
To operate a 10HP power tiller, first ensure that the machine is fueled and that all safety checks are completed. Start the engine by following the manufacturer's instructions, typically involving turning the fuel valve on, setting the choke, and pulling the starter cord. Once the engine is running, adjust the throttle to the desired speed and engage the tilling mechanism, usually by pulling a lever. Move the tiller forward slowly and steadily, guiding it in straight lines while allowing the tines to penetrate the soil effectively.
Remove the recoil then if the spring is not broken you tighten the spring (you are looking at the inside of the recoil you turn it clock wise until it is tight) line the wholes for the rope up then clamp so it won't move take a wire and hook the roap threw tie the not in the end of the make sure you have enough roap. Then put handle on the roap tie the not in the roap to hold the handle. Then unclamp the recoil and if all was done right it should work then reinstall. Hope this helps.
