Some people recommend bribing the chinchillas with raisins but only 1 or 2 should be given per day as they can cause intestinal problems. Many chinchillas will grow used to the riding on your shoulder if you are quiet and smooth in your actions, try to wear clothing that doesn't russle when you move. but it may take a long time.
